What this module supports
The Inventory module gives schools a dedicated console for tracking physical items, stock movement, issue activity, and supplier context. It separates day-to-day stock administration from general finance entries while still keeping inventory work inside the same operational system.
Key capabilities
- create and maintain item master records from Add Item
- record stock intake and stock-level activity from Stock
- track issued items through Issue Item
- maintain supporting structures through Item Category, Item Store, and Item Supplier
- search and filter inventory records by item, code, SKU, category, store, and supplier
UI surface in Smart School
The live Smart School UI currently exposes this module through six dedicated routes:
- Add Item
- Stock
- Issue Item
- Item Category
- Item Store
- Item Supplier
In the current UI, the main inventory surface also includes a full add-item form with category, store, supplier, code, SKU, reorder level, barcode, unit cost, tax, and quantity-tracking controls. That confirms Inventory is a full operational workspace, not a small supporting list.

Important note
Inventory becomes much harder to trust if item categories, stores, and suppliers are not kept consistent from the start. Clean reference data matters because stock and issue records depend on that shared structure.
